Practical ways to handle wedding dietary restrictions including vegan, gluten-free, and allergy needs without overcomplicating your Atlanta menu.
You want every guest at your wedding to eat well. But between gluten-free aunts, vegan college friends, a groomsman with a nut allergy, and a table of guests who just prefer not to eat pork, the menu can start to feel like a logistics puzzle.
It doesn't have to be stressful. A good caterer handles dietary accommodations routinely. The key is knowing what to plan for, what to communicate, and when to let the professionals take the lead.

You don't need to build a separate menu for every possible restriction. Most wedding menus can accommodate the majority of guests with smart planning and a few intentional choices.
The restrictions that come up most often:
The RSVP card is the simplest place to start. Add a line that says "Dietary needs or allergies" and let guests fill it in. You'll get responses ranging from blank (no restrictions) to very specific (celiac, tree nut allergy, pescatarian).
A few tips for collecting this cleanly:
Once you have the data, share the full list with your caterer. They'll tell you what's already covered by the existing menu and what needs a separate preparation.

The smartest approach isn't building separate menus for every restriction. It's building a main menu that naturally covers as many needs as possible.
Design the core menu with inclusivity in mind. If one of your side dishes is a roasted vegetable medley with olive oil and herbs, that dish is already vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and nut-free. One dish, four restrictions handled.
Offer at least one substantial plant-based option. Not a side salad. Not steamed vegetables. A real entree that a vegan or vegetarian guest would be excited to eat. Stuffed peppers, a grain bowl with roasted chickpeas and tahini, a mushroom risotto. Something with presence on the plate.
Keep sauces and dressings on the side when possible. Many restrictions come down to the sauce, not the main ingredient. A grilled chicken breast is widely safe. The cream-based sauce on top of it is not.
Use buffets or food stations to your advantage. A buffet setup naturally gives guests the ability to choose what works for them. Clear labels indicating allergens and dietary categories help guests make informed choices without flagging down a server.
"My company has used their catering many times, and they always deliver high-quality, delicious food that my coworkers rave about. This time, we had some complex requests and ideas, and Sandra + Eric were incredibly hands-on and professional, taking the time to go over every detail with us in planning calls. They were prepared for every possibility and even made very last-minute adjustments to our menu to accommodate dietary restrictions/allergies seamlessly." - Kristina G.
Your caterer is your partner in this. A skilled catering team in Decatur, Sandy Springs, or anywhere in metro Atlanta has handled these requests hundreds of times. What they need from you is information, not solutions.
Share the dietary list as early as possible. Let the caterer propose how to handle each restriction. For severe allergies, the caterer may suggest a separate preparation area, individual plating, or a completely separate dish made in a clean pan.
For your guests: a note on the wedding website or the place card at their seat letting them know their dietary needs have been accommodated goes a long way. It's a small gesture that says you paid attention.

Usually not. One strong vegan entree option alongside the main menu covers it. If your guest list is heavily plant-based, your caterer can adjust proportions. A separate full menu is rarely necessary.
Tell your caterer as soon as you know. Severe allergies (anaphylaxis-level) require separate preparation, dedicated cookware, and sometimes a dedicated server. A good caterer will have a protocol in place. Give them the guest's name and the specific allergen.
It happens. Most caterers can accommodate last-minute requests for common restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free) if they know by the day before. Truly last-minute requests on the day of the event are harder, but an experienced team can usually find a solution with what's already in the kitchen.

The word exquisite means extremely beautiful, rare and appealing to excellence. What an appropriate company name! Chef Eric and associates are just as exquisite to work with as their food taste. Superb customer service. They catered my daughter's wedding two weeks ago and I am still hearing about it from our guests. Not only did the food surpass my expectations, but so did the presentation. It was fabulous, awesome, outstanding, excellent and of course exquisite. I talked to several caterers before deciding on Exquisite Delites and I am telling everyone, they are definitely one of the best caterers in the Atlanta area. You will NOT be disappointed if you choose them. We had special requirements for our guests such as vegan options and they filled all our needs. Everyone raved that the food was not the typical reception food. I could write a book about how wonderful they are. I will end with this, just use them for your catering needs.
We had an excellent experience using Exquisite Delites catering service! They catered a graduation party, and everything was just like the name - EXQUISITE! The food was delicious and attention to detail was pristine! They were able to easily accommodate various dietary needs (gluten free, vegan, etc). Everyone was very professional from setup to breakdown. We could not have been more pleased and would 100% use them again! Thank you for the fantastic experience!!!!
We used them for my sister's wedding last month and I'm so happy we did. The Chef and his wife (Sandy) are the utmost professional and kind. At our tasting they thoughtfully listened to our feedback and answered our questions in order to make our event unique, special and a success. They also curated the menu based off our likes/dislikes and then made adjustments as needed to ensure we had the perfect meal! Often times I've found that catering companies do not always deliver the same caliber of food when making food for larger groups and or weddings; However That's Definitely Not the case with Exquisite Delites, the nailed it from start to finish!!! The setup on the day of the wedding was beautiful and the food was even better than it was at our tasting 10/10! We got so many compliments on the food! I highly recommend Exquisite Delites for any special event in Atlanta (or wherever they serve). We will definitely be using them in the future. Also I want to point out - Sadia was an excellent server, and I love how this is a family owned business yet they nail it when it comes to customer service!
